1- Rajni, directed by Vinil Scariah Varghese is a new addition to the recent thriller movies coming out of Malayalam film industry and I must say, it didn’t disappoint.

2- Not rating this as writer-director Vinil’s my second cousin. I think the film contains some good ideas and the horror facade to the story in the first half was interesting. The portrayal of the titular character (revealed in a second-half twist) is solid, but the writing renders them two-dimensional. The execution of chase sequences gets repetitive after a point, and this largely lessens the impact of the climax. Owing to the locales, there’s a slightly higher chance this connects better with folks who have been to the suburban side of Chennai. All things considered, it’s definitely a not-bad debut.
