1- This is absolutely absurd. This is what happens when you make a “Whiplash” knock-off under the environment of”THE MENU”. Sure, it has its own original storyline but the driving elements and themes such as “striving for greatness” or “harshness turned to glory” and an “abusive mentor” sprinkled on top. There’s no fooling anyone who’s watched Whiplash that “Hunger” is an “Original”. The only upside here is the acting, especially Aokbab Chutimon’s compelling performance as the lead protagonist and Nopachai Jayanama as Chef Paul as her Agressive mentor was just a resemblance to a real life menacing teacher, Almost a J. K. Simmons vibe. The entire movie is mediocre at best and I appreciate it but it’s far from enjoyable.
