Plot:	Teenagers, Tilly, Monica, Peter and Allison are involved in a car crash. Allison dies from her injuries and at her memorial Allison’s uncle confronts the group and blames them for her death. Monica suggests that they get out of town and stay at her grandparents’ summerhouse in the countryside to work through the grief of losing their friend and to be out of sight until things have calmed down. When they get to the summerhouse everything is normal and peaceful until a masked man starts to terrorize and punish them in the most horrific ways.

1- “Dark Windows” tells the story of four friends — Tilly, Monica, Peter, and Ali. They are out for a ride one night and there is an accident and Ali is killed. The other three friends feel awful, especially Tilly, who was driving the car. After an uncomfortable situation at Ali’s wake, Tilly, Monica, and Peter go out to Monica’s grandparents’ old house to spend a few days and blow off some steam. But strange things seems to be happening once they get there …

2- DDespite the short runtime (81 minutes) the story is told at a relatively slow pace. That being said there are some genuinely tense moments throughout. I was particularly impressed with the restraint when it came to the attacker. They are often seen in shadow and kept to the background. The acting from the three leads was also effective. The story is somewhat derivative of other home invasion flicks but is well done regardless. If you enjoyed The Strangers you will likely enjoy this. Just be sure to set your expectations properly. This is not a slasher film. It is a simple thriller that is elevated by good acting and excellent direction.
