1- This movie is a remake of The Reef, whether or not it wants to admit that. Same overall plot. A boat capsizes and most of the party try to swim for shore. In this one it seems to be the same shark that chases down both those left behind and those that take off. Other than that, its pretty much the same. Of course, The Reef is a very good movie and this one doesn’t quite live up to it predecessor. Still, I found it to be a pretty decent flick, the storyline kept me engaged, and there were some decent shark attack scenes. Yes, the shark is CGI for the most part, but there were some practical effects used for close up attack shots which added some realism.

2- This won’t be one that sticks with you and you remember for years to come, but its worth checking out on a rainy day to pass some time. I think that’s all most of us want from a movie like this anyway.
